Jacob lived his entire life in the part of Rowan County that became Davidson County on 09 Dec 1822. Jacob married Mary Magdalena (went by Magdalena) Clodfelter (1791-1870) on 11 Jan 1808 at Lexington, Rowan (became Davidson) County, North Carolina. Jacob and Magdalena were the parents of eleven known children, namely:
1. Catherine Sink Leonard (1810-c1842)
2. Henry Luther Sink (1812-1892)
3. Elizabeth Sink Sowers (1813-1851)
4. Daniel Sink (1814-1883)
5. Mary Magdalena Sink Nading (1818-1876)

10. Albertine Sink Sink (1829-1905)
11. Susannah (Susan) Sink Everhart (1831-1901)
Some records mistakenly list George Mero Sink (1831-1862) as a child in this family, but he was the son of John George Sink (1783-1848) and Eva Long Sink (1787-p1850). In 1850 George M. Sink (age 18) was living with his widowed mother, Eva Sink at Northern Davidson County, North Carolina. George married Amanda Yokley on 03 Mar 1859 at Davidson County, North Carolina.
Find-A-Grave contributor Janet Hickman added:
"Jacob served in the Civil War, enlistment date, 26 November 1861 for the Confederacy in North Carolina."
